Smart water quality monitoring and management system for shrimp hatchery

Citation

Abstract

Shrimp farming is one of the most important aquaculture in Bangladesh. By exporting this product, we earn millions in foreign revenue. One of the main aspects of shrimp farming is water quality management. In ideal temperature, pH, salinity, and dissolved oxygen levels, shrimp production thrives. However, maintaining the water quality is still manual labor-based. It is estimated that 50% of larvae die before growing to full adults because of manual water quality management. We developed a system where different sensors will collect data, and it can be shown in real time. By using microcontrollers and actuator motors , whenever any changes occur in the quality of the water , they will be resolved. As such, it helps to decrease the shrimp mortality rate.
