Abstract
The goal of this thesis is to explore a new formalism of Tensor Networks called
SIMPS and review its feasibility at tackling the computational challenges posed by
many-body systems. We will start this thesis with the review of some foundational
concepts of quantum mechanics and quantum information, and we review the existing
formalism of TNs. Afterwards, we will review the literature by David. T.
Stephen [27] [26] which introduces the SIMPS formalism and proceed to investigating
the cases where SIMPS provides obvious computational advantages over existing
formalisms.
