Abstract

Tourism in the Inlay Lake Region celebrates the diverse, vibrant and beautiful cultural heritage landscape and peoples that make this such a unique place to visit. Where possible tourism should be low impact, targeting a market that appreciates regional cultures and the natural environment, and who wish to play a part in its sustainable development. The major objective of this study is to understand the challenges for development of tourism sector in Inlay Lake. This study have used the same set of questions used for the study ‘Tourism Survey Report: Result and Analysis’ conducted in March 2014: from a comprehensive visitor and interview method. This dissertation is organized with five chapters. The study found that waste management, transportation and high prices are the challenges for the development of tourism sector in Inlay Lake. The biggest problem that still have are waste management and transportation. According to the survey, waste and transportation sectors are most disliked fact both local tourists and international tourists faced. Government should try to solve these problems as soon as possible for Inlay Lake Area. It seems there is not so much changes in these sectors within last three years.
