Abstract
The report is an evaluation of supply chain management (SCM) architecture of the Golden Jute
Product Ltd. with reference to the fine balance between operational efficiency and sustainability
of the production of Jute Diversified Products (JDPs). With a global trend to biodegradable
material, this paper investigates how the company deals with the complexities of seasonal
procurement, the existence of multi-layered supplier network and international export logistical
plans. The research establishes key bottlenecks in the upstream supply chain using a mix of
qualitative observations and quantitative analysis, namely, the traceability of the raw materials and
inventory differences as a result of manual tracking systems. The results indicate that although
Golden Jute has a good "green" brand image, its operational efficiency tends to go green with
material waste and variation in lead-time. The report ends with a strategic roadmap that proposes
a gradual digitalization (ERP integration), introduction of the Lean manufacturing principles to
reduce the amount of waste on the floor, and one of the cyclical recovery programs that jute
residues. These proposals will help the company move beyond being a conventional manufacturer
towards a technology-based leader in the circular economy of the world.
