Re-development of Dhaka City Corporation Market Gulshan 1, Dhaka: আঙ্গিনা-a public square

Abstract

Dhaka city-corporation may have contribution of constructing markets in Dhaka city. These infrastructures act as multipurpose tool. These infrastructures are designed considering public services, recreation, political and socio-economic factors and so on. DNCC market at Gulshan 1 is one of the great contributions in Dhaka city. However, market is planned but still chaotic need to develop considering the modern architecture. The project is conducted on redesigning the Dhaka North City Corporation market at Gulshan 1. The project attempts to understand the necessity of redevelopment of this market in urban context. Since, the existing market has the potentials to keep balance between commerce and community facilities this project aims to create the same.
