Abstract
This internship report analyzes the impact of the Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) on evaluation and performance management at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Employment (MoICE). A Human Resources Information System (HRIS) is a software solution that assists organizations and companies of all sizes, including public sector entities like government regulatory bodies. HRIS enhances human resource functions by providing user-friendly and flexible capabilities. It streamlines and automates various HR processes, promoting transparency, accountability, accuracy, and validity, thereby reducing administrative burdens. The system facilitates an easier recruitment process, simplifies compensation management, and improves attendance and record tracking. It securely stores employee service data, including individual progress, demographics, training and development records, achievements, and compensation information. Hence, the implementation of the HRIS system at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Employment (MoICE) represents an RCSC’s strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of HR functions and their processes, especially in the field of evaluation and performance management of the government, so as to foster good governance through technology. This internship report is divided into three chapters, first elaborating on an overview of the internship, second with the organization part, and followed by the project part. This report discusses how the implementation of foster HRIS systems like MaX and ZESt has transformed MoICE from traditional and manual work into digitalized and automatic HR functions. Hence, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the overall HR functions, increasing employee engagement, and aligning individual personnel’s KPI with the ministry’s performance objective and evaluation and performance management. Additionally, by proactively addressing the challenges and taking in the recommendations, MoICE can further maximize the benefits of the HRIS system, which will definitely help in fostering a robust industrial, commercial, and workforce environment in the country.
