Abstract

Women are the known to be the nurturers and caregivers of the world. They are expected to get something and make it better, as the popular saying goes. Unfortunately, even though one would assume the givers of our society will be loved and appreciated, they are often treated with unkindness at best, and violence at worst. In many cases these victims have nowhere else to go and hence choose to live in an abusive environment. During such times, they seek out, or are placed in shelters and rehabilitation centers to recuperate. This paper seeks to establish how a complex can be created that is conducive to the healing of these victims, both mentally and physically. The project aims to create a safe space for the women who have faced violent and traumatizing circumstances, and need a space to heal from the abuse. After researching on ways to create an environment which can alleviate the suffering of these women, several factors were taken into account, which eventually became the framework for the project. The solutions demonstrate how a complex such as this can greatly help these women, and also the society as a whole, by simply making the people see the reality of what these women go through.
